Dubai authorities warn motorists after red light violation causes crash

Dubai authorities released a video on Sunday to warn motorists about the severe consequences of running red lights. The footage shows a concrete mixer truck speeding through an intersection after the traffic light turned red, crashing into a black sedan and dragging it onto the pavement. The impact spun the sedan, leaving it with significant damage, including a broken rear bumper.

While another vehicle narrowly avoided the collision, authorities have not confirmed if there were any injuries.

Dubai Police reiterated that running a red light incurs a fine of Dh1,000, 12 black points, and the vehicle’s impoundment for one month, as per Decree No. (30) of 2023. Offenders must pay Dh50,000 to release impounded vehicles.
