The Philippines has been named the best country for diving in the Asia Pacific region at the 2024 Travel Weekly Asia Readers’ Choice Awards. The recognition highlights the country’s stunning underwater scenery, making it a top destination for diving enthusiasts worldwide.
The award ceremony, held on October 15, honored the Philippines for its exceptional dive sites. The recognition was accepted by Micaela Ochoa from the Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) Philippines, alongside Dr. Emmanuel R. Fernandez, Deputy Head of Mission and Consul General at the Philippine Embassy in Singapore.
TPB Chief Operating Officer Marga Nograles expressed gratitude, emphasizing the country’s commitment to preserving its marine ecosystems. The Philippines has consistently earned international recognition as a diving destination, previously winning titles at the World Travel Awards and Diving and Resort Travel Expo.
Other winners included Japan as Best Destination and Sentosa for Best Island Destination in the Asia Pacific region.
