NAIA introduces stricter rules for VIP courtesies, limits access to essential personnel

The New NAIA Infrastructure Corp. (NNIC), operator of Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), has implemented a revised protocol for handling courtesies and accommodations for very important persons (VIPs), important persons (IPs), and passengers seeking VIP treatment.

Effective immediately, the new guidelines aim to eliminate the misuse of VIP privileges, which were previously accessible for a fee. According to NNIC, the changes focus on creating a smoother airport experience for all passengers, reducing the need for special treatment beyond what is essential for dignitaries and key officials.

Under the new system, only NNIC personnel will provide VIP assistance, with limitations placed on non-passengers offering meet-and-greet services. The use of annual access passes will also be strictly evaluated, and new tailored fees will be introduced for high-profile passengers seeking similar services.

The updated protocol aligns NAIA with international aviation standards, ensuring security, operational efficiency, and fairness across all airport users.
