Their love story took flight amidst the challenges of a pandemic. When Janelli battled Covid-19 in January 2021, destiny intervened. The following month, Mon flew to the UAE, where Janelli had taken refuge, and it was there, amid the vastness of the emirates, that he proposed.
From that moment, their paths became intertwined, and they embarked on a journey of love and shared dreams.
Their bond grew stronger as they navigated the complexities of life together. Mon became Janelli’s steadfast partner, not only in love but also in their professional endeavors.
They pursued a barista course, embarked on content creation ventures together, and provided support and care for each other, especially Janelli had a long haul post-Covid symptoms during those times.
In every step, they discovered the beauty of being true to themselves and taking action rather than merely making promises.
A Journey through Adversity
Mon found himself stranded in the UAE for eight long months, a consequence of the pandemic’s impact on global travel.
Despite the uncertainty, their love endured, and they remained unwavering in their commitment to each other. Eventually, he was able to return to work, even amidst a mass retrenchment of employees during those challenging times.
Last February 2023, Mon made a life-changing decision. He resigned from his seven-year job at Okada Manila, the place where their paths first crossed, to be with Janelli.
For seven years, he served with unwavering dedication at the world-class 5-star hotel, Okada Manila, from its pre-opening team until the first quarter of 2023. Throughout his tenure, his exceptional work ethic and outstanding contributions did not go unnoticed. He consistently earned recognition as the “Outstanding Team Member of the Quarter” and “Employee of the Year,” showcasing his unwavering commitment and exemplary performance.
His remarkable track record and dedication have paved the way for an upcoming promotion.
This leap of faith was not an easy one, as he had already purchased a house for them in the Philippines, where they could have lived a comfortable life. However, he understood his partner’s aspirations and dreams, and he wanted to support her in every way possible.
With his wealth of experience and upcoming promotion on the horizon, Mon’s decision to leave Okada Manila to support her dreams demonstrates the depth of his love and commitment to their shared journey. Together, they embody the true essence of a dynamic power couple, destined to conquer new heights and overcome any obstacle that comes their way.
Twin Flames Colliding
Janelli plays a pivotal role in their empowered partnership. As a full-time marketing specialist and a passionate advocate for Genius Makers, she dedicates her time to teaching, while also excelling in photography, design, website development, and other multimedia work.
Her latest achievement includes designing billboards and prominent large print building stickers that grace the bustling roads of Dubai and Abu Dhabi highways. Her unwavering commitment and hard work mirror the same drive that fuels their journey, making them an unstoppable force together.
Their love transcends the boundaries of traditional roles. Mon found new avenues for his passion as he ventured into the field of film productions, becoming an integral part of a renowned Filipino production company in UAE – TBON Productions Abu Dhabi.
Meanwhile, Janelli took charge of business development, working alongside trusted partners while pursuing her own professional growth. Together, they built a solid foundation for their future, continuously expanding their skill set through studying technical courses in Filipino Institute, preparing themselves for what lies ahead.
