The Federal Authority for Identity, Nationality, Customs, and Port Security (ICP) has confirmed that the visa amnesty program, which allows individuals to adjust their residency status without facing penalties, will not be extended beyond October 31. As the deadline approaches, authorities plan to tighten enforcement measures, including deportations and placing violators on a no-entry list.
The ICP emphasized in a Khaleej Times report that violators must act within the remaining three weeks to avoid legal consequences. Major General Sultan Al-Naeimi, Director General of Residence and Foreign Affairs, stated that this period represents the “golden and final opportunity” for individuals to resolve their status. He warned that there will be no leniency or court proceedings for those who fail to comply, urging recipients of exit permits to leave before the deadline.
Increased inspection campaigns will target residential areas and companies suspected of harboring violators. Offenders who do not settle their fines before leaving will be banned from re-entering the UAE.
The total number of individuals who have successfully adjusted their status under the program will be announced after its conclusion. Authorities have also worked with airlines to provide discounted or free tickets to assist those with special circumstances in departing.
