Celtics star Jalen Brown, who spent two months in the UAE during the off-season, expressed his deep connection to the region. “This place feels like a home away from home for me,” Brown said, highlighting how the local values align with his own. Brown also emphasized the importance of the Abu Dhabi camp in preparing for the season, particularly the challenge of facing the defending champions, the Denver Nuggets.
Boston’s Jason Tatum shared similar sentiments, noting how off-the-court experiences like visiting the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque helped strengthen team bonds. “Going to the other side of the world for camp really builds chemistry,” Tatum remarked.
On the Nuggets side, reigning MVP Nikola Jokic praised the warm welcome they received in Abu Dhabi and expressed his interest in learning more about the region’s culture, particularly its renowned horses.
