UAE airlines cancel and reroute flights amid Middle East airspace closures

Several UAE-based airlines have cancelled or rerouted flights as airspaces in parts of the Middle East were shut down due to escalating regional tensions on Tuesday.

Etihad Airways confirmed in a Khaleej Times report that a number of its flights on October 1 and 2 have been rerouted due to airspace restrictions in Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Lebanon, following Iran’s missile strikes on Israel. The airline warned of possible disruptions and delays in the coming days and advised passengers to check flight statuses on its website.

Flydubai also cancelled and rerouted several flights to affected regions, including Jordan, Iraq, Israel, and Iran. Passengers on connecting flights to these destinations will not be accepted for onward travel. Flydubai continues to monitor the situation and adjust schedules as needed, ensuring passenger and crew safety remains a priority.

Emirates confirmed that some of its flights had been cancelled or diverted, with the airline closely monitoring the evolving situation. Passengers were urged to check flight updates on the airlines’ websites for the latest information.
