Vice President Sara Duterte has denied accusations that her recent visit to former Vice President Leni Robredo in Naga City was staged for publicity. Duterte emphasized that the meeting was part of her official duties, which include visiting former vice presidents at their residences.
“One of my tasks at the Office of the Vice President (OVP) is to visit former vice presidents at their homes,” Duterte said during a press briefing. She noted that these visits are meant to show support and invite former vice presidents to contribute memorabilia for the OVP museum.
Duterte, who previously criticized Robredo by calling her a “fake VP,” did not disclose details of their conversation, saying it was Robredo’s place to speak about it. “It would be presumptuous of me to share details, especially since I was the guest in her home,” Duterte added.
In addition to Robredo, Duterte has already visited former vice presidents Joseph Estrada, Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, and Teofisto Guingona. She still plans to meet with Noli De Castro and Jejomar Binay in the future.
