Cooler nights ahead: UAE set to transition from summer to autumn starting tomorrow

Residents across the UAE can look forward to the end of the summer season tomorrow, marking the arrival of milder weather. According to Ibrahim Al Jarwan, chairman of the Emirates Astronomical Society, the autumn equinox will take place on September 22 at 4:44 PM, signifying the official start of autumn.

Temperatures are expected to decrease, with cooler nights becoming noticeable throughout the month. Day and night will also be of equal length following the equinox, and nights will gradually get longer as the UAE moves towards winter.

Al Jarwan further noted in a Khaleej Times report that autumn evenings will showcase prominent star constellations, including the Big Dipper and the Great Square of Pegasus. Additionally, several meteor showers will peak in the coming months, starting with the Orionids in October.

Rainfall and thunderstorms are also forecast for some parts of the country, as cumulonimbus clouds form in eastern areas. Increased humidity levels and fog formation will likely persist through mid-November.
