UAE authorities have recently announced an accident-free day initiative. Drivers who pledged their participation and successfully avoided any traffic violations or accidents during the designated day this week had the opportunity to remove four black points from their traffic file.
What are black points?
Black points, or traffic points, are penalties imposed against drivers for various traffic violations. These can range from minor offenses, which result in monetary fines, to more severe violations that not only bring financial penalties but also black points. Drivers can accrue anywhere from four to a maximum of 24 black points. Exceeding this limit leads to the transfer of the case to the UAE courts and may result in the suspension or confiscation of the driver’s license.
