Dubai Taxi Corporation (DTC) is set to add 300 new taxis to its fleet, following the award of new plates at a recent auction by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). This expansion brings DTC’s total fleet to nearly 6,000 vehicles, accounting for 46% of the taxi market share in the emirate.
The increased fleet aims to meet the growing demand for sustainable and efficient transport, driven by Dubai’s population and economic growth. The expansion is expected to generate an additional AED 100 million in annual revenues.
Mansoor Rahma Al Falasi, CEO of DTC, highlighted that 25% of the new taxis will be electric, aligning with Dubai’s strategy to reduce carbon emissions and achieve net-zero by 2050. This move is part of DTC’s ongoing efforts to enhance its services and maintain its position as a leading transport provider in Dubai.
