Emirates is gearing up to receive its first Airbus A350 aircraft in October, with a total of five Airbus planes expected by the end of 2024. This was confirmed by Adel Alredha, Deputy President and Chief Operations Officer of Emirates Airline, during the Dubai AI and Web3 Festival.
Alredha noted that while the airline will receive the Airbus deliveries, no Boeing aircraft have arrived yet due to ongoing delays. As a result, Emirates has extended the service life of some of its current fleet.
He further explained that the delays stem from disruptions during the Covid-19 pandemic, which impacted the production capacities of aircraft manufacturers. The airline’s $3 billion aircraft modernisation programme now covers 190 planes, aiming to enhance the customer experience despite these challenges.
