Spinneys Dubai 92 Cycle Challenge set to return for 15th edition in February 2025

The Spinneys Dubai 92 Cycle Challenge is making a highly anticipated comeback after a record-breaking 2024 season, which saw more than 2,700 participants cycling through the streets of Dubai. In partnership with Dubai Sports Council, the 15th edition will return to Expo City Dubai, with the Build-Up Rides taking place at the Al Qudra Cycle Track.

Cyclists will have the chance to train and compete across several key events, culminating in the main event scheduled for Sunday, February 23, 2025, at Expo City Dubai. The challenge will once again serve as a qualifier for the 2025 UCI Gran Fondo World Series Championship, with the top 25% of participants from each age group advancing to the finals in Lorne, Australia, in October 2025.

The season will also feature the popular Aster Pharmacy BIG 5 competition, consisting of four Build-Up Rides leading to the final 92km race. Cyclists will progressively increase their pace as they prepare for the main event, with top male and female riders earning yellow or blue jerseys, signifying their leadership status in their categories. Teams of six can also compete, with participants vying for top spots.

The Build-Up Rides are scheduled as follows:

Ride 1: September 29, 2024
Ride 2: October 27, 2024
Ride 3: November 24, 2024
Ride 4: January 26, 2025
Junior Rides and Outride: February 22, 2025
Spinneys Dubai 92 Cycle Challenge: February 23, 2025

Cyclists can now register for the Aster Pharmacy BIG 5 competition for AED 585, which includes a variety of benefits such as exclusive prizes, a leaderboard ranking, leader jerseys, and a finisher medal.

Spinneys Group GM Marketing, Warwick Gird, expressed excitement for the upcoming season, noting the success of the 2024 edition and the goal to continue breaking records. This year will also see Jetour UAE joining as the official automotive sponsor, supporting the event and its participants.

The challenge is again partnering with Ciovita, a leading sportswear brand, which will offer a new line of merchandise to commemorate the 15th edition. Riders can purchase the exclusive range, including jerseys and socks, on the event’s official website.
