The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) has announced the launch of its annual national seasonal influenza awareness campaign on September 9. The campaign, titled “Immunise Yourself … Protect Your Community,” is being conducted in partnership with the Emirates Health Services (EHS), Abu Dhabi Public Health Centre (ADPHC), Department of Health Abu Dhabi (DoH), and the Dubai Health Authority (DHA).
The initiative aims to raise community awareness about the importance of getting vaccinated against seasonal influenza and to enhance the expertise of medical professionals by sharing the latest international prevention practices. The campaign will focus on vaccinating the most vulnerable groups, including the elderly, pregnant women, and those with chronic health conditions.
This effort is part of MoHAP’s ongoing strategy to promote preventive healthcare measures and improve the quality of life in the UAE. The ministry emphasizes the importance of early vaccination to reduce the risk of flu complications and to support its broader goal of strengthening the nation’s healthcare system.
Seasonal influenza, according to the World Health Organisation, is a highly contagious respiratory infection that can be effectively prevented through vaccination.
