Senate finds strong evidence against contractors in Sandro Muhlach harassment case

In a recent Senate hearing, strong evidence has emerged against independent contractors Jojo Nones and Richard Cruz, who are accused of abusing actor Sandro Muhlach. Senate President Pro Tempore Jinggoy Estrada highlighted this development during the second hearing of the Senate Committee on Public Information and Mass Media, chaired by Senator Robinhood Padilla.

The allegations, which include sexual harassment, were brought to light after Muhlach filed a complaint with the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI). Estrada confirmed the presence of compelling evidence but noted that further details would be withheld until the NBI concludes its investigation.

Nones and Cruz, who attended the hearing after missing the initial session due to fears of a media-driven trial, have strongly denied the allegations. They clarified that no sexual harassment or abuse occurred, directly addressing the accusations in a public statement.

The controversy also touched on text exchanges between Muhlach and Nones prior to the alleged incident, which were read publicly by Sandro’s father, Niño Muhlach. These messages seem to contradict claims by Cruz and Nones’ camp that Sandro initiated contact.

The Senate committee is set to continue its investigation, with another hearing scheduled for Thursday, August 14, where further developments are expected.
