Mon Confiado files lawsuit against Jeff Jacinto for defamation on social media

Actor Mon Confiado has taken legal action against a content creator, Jeff Jacinto, also known as Ileiad, by filing a criminal complaint at the NBI Cybercrime Division. This follows a dispute over a false narrative Ileiad posted on social media, alleging an unpleasant encounter with Confiado in a grocery store, which the actor swiftly debunked.

Confiado expressed on his Facebook page that his legal move should serve as a lesson about the consequences of unauthorized use of someone’s name and image. “This should serve as a lesson to you and everyone that using someone’s name and image without permission is a crime. Not all jokes are funny, and not all jokes are for everyone. Jokes should bring joy, not destruction,” Confiado stated.

The actor, known for his role in “Senior High,” emphasized his normally peaceful demeanor and the importance of maintaining his reputation for professional reasons. “As an actor, my name is my investment to secure work. But I was shocked when you directly used my name and image in a ‘copypaste’ joke,” he added.

Confiado highlighted the potential damage such false claims could have on his career, including affecting ongoing negotiations for film roles and endorsements. He also criticized Jacinto’s response to his initial callout and the content creator’s subsequent public apology, which Confiado deemed insincere.
