Actress Chie Filomeno revealed her budding relationship with actor Jake Cuenca at “A Very Good Girl” media conference on Wednesday. “We’re talking. Taking our time. You can say dating, of course, yes,” confirmed Filomeno.
She expressed her appreciation for Cuenca’s understanding and patience, stating, “Jake knows where my heart is. He respects my decisions and is willing to wait.” She also mentioned that her parents have met Cuenca. “They say I’m 27 and can make my own decisions, but they are still there to guide me,” she added.
Filomeno explained the connection between her and Cuenca, saying they both often feel misunderstood in the entertainment industry. “However, genuine intentions shine through. People may comment, but when your heart is in the right place, it shows.”
She praised Cuenca for his passion for his craft and his love for his family, highlighting his family-oriented nature. On being probed about their relationship’s beginnings, Filomeno explained that they dated a few times in the past. Their reconnection occurred at a recent Christmas Ball. “He was persistent and patient, which led to our current relationship,” Filomeno shared.
Addressing concerns about being a potential rebound after Cuenca’s recent breakup, Filomeno expressed confidence in Cuenca’s maturity. “I believe he wouldn’t enter a relationship if he wasn’t fully committed. We’re taking our time,” she stated.
Lastly, Filomeno defended Cuenca against the notion that he might be a “red flag.” She urged people not to jump to conclusions based on what they see or hear. “Jake is a good man and definitely not a red flag,” she affirmed.
