The long and hot summer of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is drawing to an end. Ibrahim Al Jarwan, president of the Emirates Astronomy Society, announced that the first day of Autumn in the northern hemisphere, including the UAE, will be on Saturday, September 23.
Adding to the anticipation of cooler days, Al Jarwan observed the appearance of the Suhail star at dawn today. The sighting of this star traditionally indicates a break in the heat intensity, paving the way for the fall season.
This transitional phase where the sun reflects directly on the equator and moves south will last until December 21, marking the duration of the autumnal period. Residents and tourists can look forward to milder temperatures and pleasant weather in the coming months.
