Denise Diaz, a 35-year-old mother, was astonished when she found out that her six-year-old son, Pupuy, had been having conversations with an account named “Papa Jesus” on Messenger. This revelation came after Diaz checked Pupuy’s Messenger history, prompted by her sister’s concerns.
Pupuy had been sending video and voice messages to the “Papa Jesus” account, even attempting to call it several times. In one video message, Pupuy innocently asked, “Are you happy in heaven, Papa Jesus? Hello, Papa Jesus! How are you in heaven?”
Diaz recounted the moment she discovered this, “My sister messaged me to check Pupuy’s Messenger. She told me there was a conversation where he was leaving voice messages to Jesus, asking about heaven.”
This curiosity about God and heaven started after the early passing of Pupuy’s six-month-old cousin, Kylie. Diaz explained in a GMA News Online report, “His cousin died at six months old, and he often asks if Kylie is with Papa Jesus in heaven. He even asks about his grandfather, wondering if he’s with Jesus too.”
Pupuy’s fascination with God is influenced by their religious family upbringing. Diaz shared how she tries to explain these things to her son, “I told him that no one has seen Papa Jesus, but the images we see on Facebook or makeup imitations are just representations.”
Despite Pupuy’s persistent questions, Diaz is happy that her son feels close to God. “Even though he asks a lot of questions, I’m glad he has a strong connection to God,” she said.
