An Indian expatriate, Tushar Deshkar, has won Dh15 million in the latest Big Ticket Abu Dhabi raffle draw held on Saturday.
Tushar, who lives in Abu Dhabi, purchased the winning ticket, number 334240, on July 31. He wasn’t watching the draw live and only found out when show hosts Richard and Bouchra called him at home to share the news. “Who’s this? Is this true?” a surprised Tushar asked. “Thanks. I am at home,” he added.
In a generous gesture, Tushar revealed that he plans to share the prize money with three friends. He had been buying raffle tickets for about a year, never expecting to win the grand prize. With his share of the winnings, Tushar plans to repay loans and provide for his family.
Big Ticket Abu Dhabi continues to offer substantial prizes, including another Dh15-million grand prize this month. Participants who purchase cash prize tickets are automatically entered into an electronic draw the following day, with a chance to win Dh50,000. Additionally, 10 participants will each win Dh100,000 during the live draw on September 3, which also features a Range Rover Velar worth Dh325,000.
