In a swift and heroic act, two Dubai Police officers saved a woman from drowning off Marina Beach within just five minutes of receiving the emergency report.
According to a Khaleej Times report, Corporal Amjad Muhammad Al Balushi and Corporal Khamis Muhammad Al Aisai from the Marine Security Department were promptly dispatched to the scene, where they rescued the European woman and provided immediate assistance until the ambulance arrived.
Brigadier Dr. Hassan Suhail, Director of the Ports Police Station, praised the officers for their bravery and quick response. He explained that the incident began when the Command and Control Centre at the General Department of Operations received a report about a woman in danger of drowning.
Al Balushi and Al Aisai were honored with certificates of appreciation for their heroic efforts. Dr. Suhail emphasized that this recognition is meant to inspire and encourage all Dubai Police personnel to continue delivering excellent service to the community.
He also urged beachgoers to adhere to safety guidelines, such as swimming only in designated areas with a lifeguard, not swimming in deep waters if unable to swim, and ensuring children are not left unattended. Additional safety tips included wearing appropriate swimwear, avoiding swimming under the influence of drugs or alcohol, and refraining from reckless behavior in the water.
The ceremony was attended by Colonel Ali Al Naqbi, Deputy Director of the Ports Police Station, Major Ali Hamid Bin Harb Al Shamsi, Head of the Marine Security Section, and Major Saeed Khalifa Al Mazrouei, Head of the General Shift Section.
