Gerald Santos voices support for Sandro Muhlach amidst sexual abuse allegations

Gerald Santos, the grand champion of Pinoy Pop Superstar (2006) Season 2, has extended his sympathy to newcomer Sparkle artist Sandro Muhlach, who is currently embroiled in a controversy.

Sandro, the eldest son of Niño Muhlach, has recently come forward as a victim of alleged sexual abuse. On Friday, August 2, 2024, Gerald shared a news article from PEP.ph on Facebook, discussing a statement from GMA Network confirming they received a formal complaint from Sandro against two of their independent contractors.

GMA Network identified the individuals as Jojo Nones and Richard Cruz, both writers and creators for the network’s programs.

Gerald shared that many people have been messaging and tagging him about the issue, which brought back painful memories for him. He recalled being in a similar situation in the past, but unlike Sandro, he had no voice and no social media to support him.

Gerald expressed his hope that Sandro will achieve the justice that he was once denied. In his post, he stated: “My heart goes to Sandro and the whole Muhlach Family. I was once in this situation but back then wala kang boses, walang social media. Unlike ngayon na nagkaroon na ng #MeToo movement. But I will hold my head up high for standing up amidst tremendous pressure to just let go of what happened. I hope he gets the justice I was once denied of.”
