Actress Maris Racal is featured in the latest version of Rico Blanco’s song “Kisapmata,” originally a hit for his band Rivermaya in 1996. The updated version was released on July 19 across various music streaming platforms.
In a visualizer video on Blanco’s YouTube channel, posted on Saturday, Blanco thanked everyone involved in the music and recording process, highlighting Racal’s contribution on the Telecaster guitar. Other musicians acknowledged included Mark Escueta on the guitar amp, Marco Bachini on acoustic guitar, and Zild Benitez on the 12-string guitar.
“Kisapmata” marks Blanco’s second release from his upcoming album featuring solo artist versions of his popular songs. The first single, “You’ll Be Safe Here,” was released in October 2023.
Blanco recently made headlines when Racal confirmed their breakup on July 12 during a press conference. The couple had publicly acknowledged their relationship in May 2021 after collaborating on a music single.
