New paid parking zones announced for Abu Dhabi beginning July 29

Abu Dhabi will implement paid parking in key areas starting Monday, July 29, authorities confirmed. The new paid parking zones will include sectors SW2, SE45, and SE48.

According to a Khaleej Times report, Sector SE48, located at the Etihad Airways headquarters on Al Mireef Street, will provide 694 parking spaces, including 3 designated for people of determination. Sector SE45, situated at Etihad Plaza between Al Mireef Street and Al Ibtisamah Street, will offer 1,283 parking spaces, with 17 allocated for people of determination. Sector SW2, spanning from Al Marmouq Street to Al Qalayid Street, will feature 523 parking spaces, with 17 reserved for people of determination.

Abu Dhabi Mobility (AD Mobility) announced that the Mawaqif service will be activated, with all necessary infrastructure and signage already in place. This initiative aims to reduce illegal parking and enhance safety and security in the city.

To keep the public informed, AD Mobility has been distributing brochures explaining the new parking system to residents and businesses. Mawaqif, a government entity, manages and organizes parking in Abu Dhabi, categorizing spaces into premium and standard types with different fee structures.

While specific charges for the new areas have yet to be detailed, premium parking typically costs Dh3 per hour for up to four hours, and standard parking costs Dh2 per hour or Dh15 for 24 hours, with free parking on Sundays and public holidays.
