RTA Dubai reduces travel time by 60% on E311 with new traffic improvements

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has successfully completed traffic enhancements on E311, also known as Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Road, significantly reducing travel times.

The capacity of the exit from Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road to Al Rebat Street has increased by 50%, now accommodating 4,500 vehicles per hour, up from 3,000. This improvement cuts travel time from Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road to Al Rebat Street towards Business Bay Crossing from 10 minutes to just 4 minutes, marking a 60% reduction.

Exit 55 leading to Al Rebat Street has been extended by 600 meters. The overlap distance has been increased, and a new lane has been added, bringing the total number of lanes to three.

According to a Khaleej Times report, this traffic expansion is part of the RTA’s 2024 improvement projects, which include upgrades at 45 locations across Dubai. These enhancements aim to support Dubai’s sustainable growth and improve the happiness and well-being of residents, contributing to the goal of making Dubai the best city to live in.
