The Philippines has placed 59th out of 60 in the 2024 Remote Global Life-Work Balance Index, highlighting significant challenges in achieving a balanced life-work dynamic. This ranking was part of a study conducted by the human resource platform Remote, which evaluated the world’s top 60 GDP countries.
The study assessed various factors including statutory annual leave, paid maternity leave, and the average hours worked per employee. Manila’s score of 27.46 out of 100 was only marginally better than Nigeria, which ranked last with a score of 16.15. In contrast, Wellington, New Zealand, topped the index with a score of 80.76, followed by Dublin, Ireland, and Brussels, Belgium.
Among Southeast Asian countries, Singapore was the highest-ranked, positioned at 26th with a score of 56.84.
