Suspended Bamban Mayor Alice Guo suspected of leaving PH with Chinese passport

Suspended Bamban Mayor Alice Guo might have already left the Philippines using her Chinese passport, according to Senator Sherwin Gatchalian.

“Based on our information from the Bureau of Immigration, she’s still here because we checked if Guo Hua Ping has already left the Philippines, but they haven’t found such a record so far,” Gatchalian stated during an interview on Radyo 630 on Wednesday.

The National Bureau of Investigation has verified that Guo and the Chinese passport holder Guo Hua Ping are the same person. Gatchalian claimed last month that Guo had been using both Chinese and Philippine passports between 2008 and 2011. He now believes she still possesses and may have used her Chinese passport to leave the country.

“I believe her Chinese passport is still there,” Gatchalian said. “Maybe she used her Chinese passport to leave.”

However, Guo’s lawyer, Stephen David, has insisted that the suspended mayor remains in the Philippines.

Guo was ordered arrested by the Senate on July 13 due to her repeated failure to attend the committee on women’s hearings. She has been under investigation after evidence linked her to a raided Philippine offshore gaming operator in Bamban, Tarlac.
