Cebu Pacific honors OFWs with free international flights on National Migrants’ Day

Cebu Pacific (PSE: CEB), the Philippines’ leading airline, celebrated National Migrants’ Day by giving back to the overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) who contribute significantly to the nation. During the event organized by the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), the airline raffled off international roundtrip tickets to six lucky OFWs.

“This initiative is part of our commitment to United Filipino Global, our corporate social responsibility partner, in honoring the dedication of OFWs,” said Candice Iyog, CEB Chief Marketing and Customer Experience Officer in an Inquirer.net report. “Their sacrifices and resilience are an inspiration to us all, and we hope these tickets bring joy and opportunities for meaningful connections.”

The raffle offered the winners a chance to reunite with their loved ones or take a much-deserved vacation. This gesture underscores Cebu Pacific’s dedication to supporting the Filipino migrant workforce.

In conjunction with the celebration, CEB and its partners, including select government agencies and United Filipino Global (UFG), launched an overseas job fair in Tacloban. The fair aimed to meet the employment needs of Filipinos in various sectors such as healthcare, hospitality, accounting, and skilled trades. Over 5,000 job opportunities were available in countries like Australia, Japan, Malaysia, the Middle East, Thailand, and the UAE.

“United Filipino Global is proud to partner with Cebu Pacific in celebrating the hard work and dedication of our Overseas Filipino Workers,” said Gemma Sotto, UFG Chairperson. “These initiatives not only provide joy and recognition but also reflect the importance of their contributions to our country.”
