The processing time for obtaining work permits and residency visas in the UAE has been significantly reduced from 30 days to just five days, thanks to the launch of the second phase of the Work Bundle platform, Khaleej Times reports. This new development, announced on Tuesday, is expected to streamline hiring processes for business owners and private companies, and simplify the pre-renewal of work permits for existing employees.
Several government ministries and federal authorities collaborated to introduce this platform, which aims to facilitate a more efficient employment process across the country. Initially launched in Dubai in April, the first phase of the Work Bundle platform is now operational across all seven emirates.
The second phase of the platform is set to benefit approximately 600,000 companies and over seven million workers. The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) indicated that the third phase will extend to cover domestic workers.
Currently, companies and employees can access the Work Bundle through its website, workinuae.ae, with a mobile app expected to be launched soon.
