After weeks of silence, actress Kim Chiu has broken her silence regarding her breakup with Xian Lim. While Lim has been vocal about their past relationship, Chiu has consistently avoided commenting, choosing to focus on moving forward.
Chiu expressed in an ABS-CBN News report her desire for a fresh start in 2024. “Entering 2024, sabi ko talaga I just want a fresh start, new beginning and I don’t want to dwell sa past,” she shared.
Despite numerous attempts by ABS-CBN News to get her reaction to Lim’s interviews, Chiu had refrained from commenting until now. Reflecting on her past statements, Chiu said, “Parang ‘yung post ko nung December sabi ko, this will be the last time na pag-uusapan ko ito. Pero parang ang dami pa rin. Parang hindi naman siya mapag-uusapan kung no one’s lighting the fire.”
Chiu and Lim’s relationship lasted for 12 years, and their breakup was confirmed just before Christmas last year. “It was our mutual decision to transition our relationship into what we hope to be a lifelong friendship,” Chiu stated.
Recently, Chiu has taken steps to move on, including cleaning up her Instagram account and deleting photos with Lim. She hopes Lim will stop making public statements about their past. “It ended, the journey was beautiful. Ayaw ko nang maging masama ‘yung loob ko,” she said, on the verge of tears.
“Kasi paulit-ulit na lang. Let’s give it a rest and let’s leave respect to each other,” Chiu concluded, emphasizing the need for both to move on respectfully.
