Sharjah Art Foundation has announced open calls for three of its annual programmes, inviting artists and practitioners to participate in film, photography, and comic publication initiatives. The foundation aims to support the creation and presentation of contemporary art in the UAE and beyond.
The first programme, the Sharjah Film Platform 7 Short Film Production Grant, offers funding for the completion of short films that push the boundaries of contemporary filmmaking. This grant is part of the Foundation’s annual festival of independent cinema and moving image.
The second programme, Vantage Point Sharjah 12, is an open call for photographers. The 12th iteration of this annual photography exhibition welcomes submissions from photographers working in all genres and styles.
The third programme, Corniche 6, invites GCC-based illustrators and comic artists to submit pitches for a six-page comic. Selected submissions will be considered for publication in the sixth edition of Corniche.
These initiatives reflect the foundation’s commitment to providing opportunities that contribute to the production and presentation of contemporary art in the region.
