UAE confirms all Mars bars sold are halal, ensures food safety across markets

Authorities in the UAE have assured that all Mars chocolate bars available in Abu Dhabi and Dubai markets are halal, as per the latest confirmation on Tuesday. Dubai Municipality stated through a social media post that every product from Mars company complies with the nation’s technical regulations and legislation for halal certification. They emphasized that “all food items undergo thorough supervision across the supply chain, ensuring compliance with specific standards.”

Similarly, the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA) reaffirmed that all imported food products face rigorous controls at various entry points to the country. This measure ensures no product enters without meeting approved specifications. Further inspections and samplings are routinely carried out at sales centers to maintain food safety.

ADAFSA highlighted that their strict regulatory framework is based on scientific principles and international standards, which are continually reviewed and updated to incorporate the latest developments in food safety.

This announcement follows a recent confirmation by the UAE’s Ministry of Climate Change and Environment regarding the safety of Perrier French water, after Nestle increased surveillance due to quality concerns raised by French regulators.
