UAE achieves world’s fastest recorded 5G speed at 30.5Gbps

UAE’s telecom giant e& UAE has set a new world record by registering a 5G network speed of 30.5Gbps. The unprecedented speed was achieved during a live demo at the SAMENA Leaders’ Summit 2024.

The achievement was made possible by successfully aggregating multiple carriers across a mix of high-band and mid-band spectrums, utilizing 1600 MHz in mmWave and 300MHz in C-band. This development not only sets a new benchmark in network speeds but also showcases e& UAE’s cutting-edge capabilities in network technology.

Khalid Murshed, Chief Technology and Information Officer of e& UAE, expressed his enthusiasm about the milestone, stating, “We are thrilled to announce e& UAE’s achievement of the world’s fastest 5G network speed. With this accomplishment, we are poised to unleash the boundless potential of 5G technology, empowering innovative services and applications that will transform the fabric of society and the economy.”

Murshed also highlighted the alignment of this achievement with the UAE’s digital goals. “Aligned with the UAE’s ambitious digital agenda, e& UAE’s continuous investment in its network and technologies underscores its commitment to delivering premium digital services. By adopting the latest 5G solutions, we are providing our customers with premium digital experiences today but also paving the way for the 6G era by 2030 in line with the UAE’s recently unveiled 6G Roadmap by TDRA,” he added.

The telecom leader further detailed future-focused innovations such as network slicing, private 5G networks, RedCap, mobile VPN, and premium Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) leased lines, which are set to provide unparalleled connectivity experiences for consumers and businesses alike.
