A tragic incident unfolded in Sitio Suyok, Barangay Tandang Kutyo, Tanay, Rizal, on Friday, April 12, as a dispute over unpaid debt turned fatal. Melvin Tical, the victim, lost his life in a horrifying manner while attempting to collect money owed to him by a backhoe operator.
According to Tanay Police reports, Tical visited an excavation site where the suspect, whose identity has not been disclosed, was employed. The purpose of his visit was to reclaim the money borrowed by the operator.
However, what began as a confrontation over the debt quickly escalated into a violent altercation. Amidst a heated exchange of words, the suspect, operating the heavy machinery, struck Tical with the arm of the backhoe. The situation took a deadly turn when the suspect mercilessly crushed Tical not once, but twice, using the bucket of the backhoe, resulting in instantaneous death.
Following the brutal act, authorities swiftly took the suspect into custody. He now faces charges of murder as the investigation into the tragic incident continues.
