Philippine Airlines issues alert on fake cargo shipments, warns public against scammers

Philippine Airlines (PAL) has issued a warning to the public regarding scams related to domestic cargo shipments misusing the airline’s name. The advisory, posted on PAL’s official Facebook page, cautions individuals to remain vigilant against fraudulent schemes.

In the statement, PAL highlighted recent incidents where scammers have targeted individuals through Facebook and Messenger, enticing them to make payments for cargo shipments purportedly loaded on PAL flights. These messages often include fake PAL cargo airway bills as false evidence of the supposed shipments.

“These are totally bogus. No such cargo shipments exist, and any related online payments will surely go to fraudsters,” stated PAL in the advisory.

The airline urged the public to exclusively engage with PAL’s legitimate cargo agents and shippers for any air cargo transactions. To ensure authenticity, PAL emphasized that all announcements and statements regarding cargo shipments are disseminated through Cargo Sales Bulletins sent via email to accredited and non-accredited agents and shippers, as well as official emails from PAL Account Executives.
