Mindanao-based sensation Shaira Moro, renowned as the “Queen of Bangsamoro Pop,” is set to debut her latest track, ‘Selos Na Yan Friend,’ following the recent removal of her viral hit ‘Selos’ from streaming platforms due to a copyright issue.
Making the announcement on Facebook, Shaira revealed that her new song accompanied by a music video will premiere today, April 5, 2024, expressing hopes for its positive reception.
The decision to pull down ‘Selos’ came after concerns were raised regarding its resemblance to Australian artist Lenka’s 2008 hit ‘Trouble Is A Friend.’ Acknowledging the issue, Shaira’s agency, AHS Productions, clarified that they are in the process of securing a cover license for ‘Selos’ and intend to re-release it officially.
Despite the setback, AHS Productions expressed gratitude to fans for their support and emphasized that ‘Selos’ was initially shared for entertainment purposes. They apologized for any inconvenience caused by the takedown and appealed for continued support upon the song’s return to platforms.
