Filipino Social Club-Dubai’s leadership event highlights stronger community ties

The Filipino community in Dubai celebrated a significant milestone last Sunday at the Canadian University Dubai, where the Filipino Social Club – Dubai held a noteworthy meeting of community leaders. This assembly was graced by His Excellency Ambassador Alfonso Ver, Philippine Ambassador to the UAE, and officials from the Community Development Authority (CDA).

The Filipino Social Club Dubai, a licensed non-profit and non-commercial entity, proudly announced the activation of new clubs and groups under its umbrella. These groups, characterized by their steadfast commitment and compliance with the CDA’s rigorous requirements, were honored with certificates of accreditation. This gesture was a testament to the UAE’s framework for legally endorsing non-profit missions and visions.

Amid the formalities, the event also served as a clarion call for unity and cooperation within the Filipino community. It heralded the beginning of an era focused on non-commercial and non-profit community engagements, aimed at strengthening the bonds among Filipinos in Dubai.

The event also set the stage for future celebrations, particularly the 126th Philippine Independence Day. This grand event, dubbed “Philippine Independence Day 2024,” is scheduled for June 8, 2024, at the Dubai World Trade Centre and promises to be a day-long festivity honoring Philippine heritage and culture.
