Abu Dhabi butcheries closed for health violations, including cockroach infestation

The Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA) has issued administrative closure notices to two butcheries located in Mushrif Mall, Abu Dhabi, for posing a significant risk to public health. Al Ayham Meat butchery, bearing trade licence number CN-4292741, and Al Amal butchery, with trade licence number CN-4860828, have been shut down due to blatant violations of Law No. (2) of 2008, which pertains to food regulations in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

These measures were taken in response to repeated offenses by both establishments, including the sale of imported meat falsely labelled as local produce, severely undermining consumer trust and violating food integrity. Additionally, inspections revealed cockroach infestations, highlighting a gross negligence towards hygiene and sanitation standards.

ADAFSA has called upon the community to remain alert and report any suspicious activities or violations in food facilities. Concerns can be addressed by contacting the toll-free number 800555, ensuring community involvement in maintaining high food safety standards.
