A tragic incident occurred on Tuesday evening off Al Mamzar Beach in Sharjah as a collision between two jet skis claimed the life of a young woman and left her brother seriously injured.
According to reports from the Sharjah Police Operations Room, the accident was reported at 6:30 pm. Upon receiving the distress call, police patrols and the National Ambulance crew swiftly responded to the scene.
The collision involved two jet skis, one carrying a 19-year-old girl and her 20-year-old brother. The other jet ski was operated by another brother.
Regrettably, the young woman succumbed to her injuries at the scene, while her brother sustained serious injuries and was promptly transported to Kuwait Hospital for medical treatment.
In response to the incident, Buhairah police have initiated an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the collision. Authorities have called upon the owner of the jet ski rental shop to facilitate legal procedures and ascertain the cause of the tragic accident.
Meanwhile, the brother responsible for the collision emerged unharmed. Although initially released by the Public Prosecution, he is expected to be summoned for further questioning as the investigation progresses.
