Filipinos in Dubai warned against fraudulent job recruitment schemes abroad

The Philippine Consulate General in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, alongside the Migrant Workers Office, have issued a strong warning to Filipinos regarding job offers from certain immigration and visa consultancy firms found on social media platforms such as Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube.

These firms have been promising employment opportunities in countries like Canada, Italy, Norway, and Poland through third-country/cross-country recruitment schemes, leading to cases where individuals have paid large sums for non-existent jobs.

Filipinos are urged to exercise extreme caution and to verify the legitimacy of such offers. While there are genuine immigration and visa consultancy firms, overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and job seekers are advised to engage only with licensed Philippine Recruitment Agencies for overseas employment.

To ensure the legitimacy of job orders, agencies, and positions, the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) encourages the use of their website for verification.
