flydubai announces expansion of European network with four new routes

Dubai-based carrier Flydubai has revealed plans to broaden its European footprint by introducing four new services, augmenting its network to 43 destinations across 21 countries.

Notably, Flydubai becomes the inaugural UAE national carrier to offer direct flights to EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg starting from August 2.

This announcement signifies Flydubai’s debut in the Baltic region, with direct flights to Riga International Airport in Latvia kicking off on October 11, alongside connections to Tallinn Airport in Estonia and Vilnius International Airport in Lithuania from October 12.

Ghaith Al Ghaith, Chief Executive Officer at Flydubai, expressed pride in the airline’s expanded network, emphasizing its growth to 126 destinations, with 60% previously having limited or no connections to Dubai. Al Ghaith highlighted the convenience these new services would offer, facilitating travel through Dubai’s aviation hub for passengers visiting the city or connecting to other destinations within the Flydubai network or through its codeshare partner, Emirates.

Operations for these flights will be based at Terminal 3, Dubai International (DXB), with Emirates codesharing on these routes, providing travelers with enhanced connectivity options via Dubai’s international aviation hub.
