In Baybay, Leyte, an 8-year-old girl named Elna narrowly escaped death after allegedly being bitten by a cobra. Instead of rushing her to the hospital, her mother, Neneta Saz, brought her to a church for prayer, believing in the power of divine intervention to save her daughter.
Neneta shared in Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho that Elna was playing outside their home last month when she picked up something from the ground and felt a bite on her hand. Although Elna did not see what bit her, Neneta suspected it was the cobra she had seen around their house before. Soon after, Elna’s condition worsened as her eyes began to narrow and her body temperature rose.
Rather than seeking medical help, Neneta decided to take Elna to their church, where a preacher named Babbie Lubiano prayed over the child, commanding the “demonic poison” to leave her body. In a video captured during the prayer, Elna’s condition appeared to improve slightly. Babbie claimed to have seen foam coming from Elna’s mouth, which he believed to be the expelled venom.
Despite Elna’s precarious condition, the intense prayers continued, and eventually, the girl raised her hand and uttered “hallelujah,” signaling her recovery. Neneta reported that her daughter gradually regained her health and is now playing as usual.
While some doubt whether a cobra truly bit Elna, Neneta recently recorded a video of a snake she believes is the same cobra near their home. Despite offers of help to capture the snake, it remains elusive. Neneta also declined medical examination for Elna, convinced that the prayers were enough to heal her daughter.
