A 71-year-old Filipino man lost his life in a car accident over the weekend, the Philippine Consulate General in Milan confirmed on Monday.
The tragic incident occurred on Saturday morning when the man’s car collided with a pole right in front of the consulate’s building. Despite being rushed to the hospital, efforts to save his life were unsuccessful, the consulate shared in a Facebook post.
Details about whether the victim was heading to the consulate at the time of the accident remain unclear. The consulate did not release the name of the deceased but expressed their deep sympathy to the bereaved family.
“The Consulate requests kababayan to pray for the eternal repose of the victim’s soul,” it stated.
