65-year-old woman found dead in Cavite home, son-in-law suspected

A 65-year-old woman was discovered dead at her daughter’s house in Trece Martires, Cavite, last Thursday, allegedly killed by her son-in-law after a family dispute.

The victim’s daughter returned from work to find their gate padlocked and sought help from a neighbor to break it open, GMA News reported. Inside, she found her mother’s lifeless body with her hands tied, a plastic bag over her head, and her neck broken.

According to local authorities, tensions arose after the daughter suspected her husband of pawning her laptop, leading her to ask her mother to intervene. Police Lieutenant Colonel Orlando Carag, the chief of Trece Martires Police, said the son-in-law is the primary suspect due to the ongoing conflict.

The daughter is now urging her husband to surrender to the authorities.
