64% of Filipino workers eyeing resignation within a year, study reveals

A significant number of Filipino employees are on the lookout for better opportunities, with 64% actively job hunting or planning to leave their current jobs within the next year, according to the latest Aon Employee Sentiment Study.

The report highlights a growing demand for improved compensation and meaningful benefits, with 66% of workers identifying these as top priorities. Other key factors influencing job satisfaction include a positive work environment (27%), well-being support programs (22%), flexible work arrangements (21%), and recognition for achievements (19%).

The competition for skilled talent is intensifying beyond Metro Manila, affecting key cities like Cebu and Davao, noted Aon Growth Lead for Talent Solutions Josef Ayson. Despite this, many workers feel their current employers fall short of expectations, particularly in providing customizable benefits. The study found that 83% of employees want greater flexibility in benefits, yet few have access to such options.

Medical coverage remains the most valued benefit, followed by paid time off, work-life balance programs, career development opportunities, and retirement savings. However, benefits alone aren’t enough to retain employees. Around 15% of workers believe their employers are not investing in their skill development, while 9% feel workplace safety measures are lacking.

Despite these concerns, 60% of employees believe their salaries are fair compared to industry standards, with only a small percentage (6%) struggling financially. Meanwhile, the rise of artificial intelligence in the workplace has been met with optimism, with nearly half of Filipino workers expressing motivation to upskill and stay competitive.

The 2025 Aon Employee Sentiment Study surveyed over 9,000 employees across 23 countries, offering a comprehensive look at job satisfaction and workplace expectations worldwide.
