6-year-old girl dies after being electrocuted while plugging phone charger in Cadiz City

Negros Occidental witnessed two tragic electrocution incidents within two days, leaving a young child dead and an internet installer injured.

On Thursday in Sitio Cotcot, Barangay Mabini, Cadiz City, a 6-year-old girl lost her life after being electrocuted while attempting to plug in a cellphone charger. Despite efforts to save her, she was declared dead on arrival at the hospital, according to Cadiz City police.

The following day in Purok Masagana, Barangay Bagumbayan, Valladolid, a 30-year-old internet installer, known only by his alias “Paul,” was electrocuted while installing an internet cable. Police reported that the man accidentally came into contact with a live wire while working on a post. Fortunately, residents noticed him hanging and quickly came to his rescue.

Authorities have reminded residents to exercise caution around electrical devices and installations to prevent similar incidents.
