Brigadier Yousef Al-Ayoub, Director of the Residency Affairs General Department at the Ministry of Interior, has announced the launch of intensive campaigns aimed at arresting Residency Law violators in Kuwait. The initiative targets individuals who have neither amended their visa status nor left the country during the stipulated grace period.
Al-Ayoub highlighted that the grace period is an effort to reduce the number of Residency Law violators. He warned that anyone found sheltering or employing these violators will face severe penalties under Article 12 of the Foreigners Law, which includes six months of imprisonment or a maximum fine of KD600.
The campaigns will also focus on identifying and shutting down fake companies that recruit workers from abroad without providing them jobs upon arrival. These companies will be referred to the Public Prosecution.
In addition, the ministry has recently introduced new online services for both citizens and expatriates. The higher committee addressing the demographic imbalance issue has been actively meeting to consider solutions, including setting quotas for each community of expatriate workers.
