In a story that proves it’s never too late to chase your dreams, a 55-year-old woman named Milagros “Ate Mila” Melgar has officially graduated from senior high school.
Captured during the graduation ceremony held on April 14 in San Fernando, Camarines Sur, Ate Mila proudly received her diploma alongside her classmates and their adviser, Froilan Regidor Doblon, who also shared her inspiring journey on social media.
“It is actually an appreciation post for Ate Mila for her academic achievement at her age. I’m just so proud of her,” Doblon in a GMA News Online report.
According to the teacher, Ate Mila had always dreamed of finishing her studies and managed to do so despite juggling work and personal responsibilities.
“This is also to give an inspiration to others that despite of her age and struggles in life, she has still managed to finish her secondary education,” he added.
Ate Mila’s story is now being celebrated online, serving as motivation to those who may have paused their educational journey but still hold on to the hope of finishing it.
