55-year-old OFW tops business management class in Abu Dhabi

Joseph Ricafort, a dedicated student enrolled in Business Management at the Filipino Institute, emerged as the top student in his class this year. At the age of 55, his journey wasn’t short of challenges, but Ricafort’s unwavering determination and commitment paved the way for his academic success.

When asked about his motivation, Ricafort said, “I was inspired to pursue academic excellence as it is the ultimate goal of my life. This achievement stands as the most significant ‘why’ in my life’s journey. I am deeply grateful to the Filipino Institute for providing me with this opportunity.”

Despite his age, which posed its own set of unique challenges, Ricafort remained tenacious, keeping his eyes firmly set on his goals. “Being 55 and pursuing my dreams hasn’t been easy,” he admitted, “but I remained focused. This is the legacy I wish to leave behind for my family.”

In terms of managing his time, Ricafort followed a disciplined routine. “My daily activities revolve around church, work, and school. If any other activity doesn’t align with my goals, I avoid it. Time is of utmost importance to me,” he shared.

Joseph has a heartfelt message for fellow Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and students worldwide: “Stay focused on your goals in life. With continuous prayer, hard work, and consistency, anything is possible. I owe my achievements to the support of the Filipino Institute. May you all achieve your dreams. Godspeed.”
