A tragic road accident on the Mecca-Riyadh Road in Saudi Arabia claimed the lives of five UAE residents from a Jordanian family on Monday.
The deceased, of Palestinian origin with Jordanian nationality, were identified as Malik Akram Kharma and his four children: Akram, Maya, Dana, and Dima. The family, who resided in the UAE, were on their way back from the Umrah pilgrimage when their vehicle collided with another car bound for Abu Dhabi.
Miraculously, the mother survived the deadly crash and is currently undergoing treatment at King Fahd Hospital in the Hofuf region. Sources confirm her condition as stable.
Witnesses were swift in their response, with nearby residents rushing to the scene to contact emergency services and offer their assistance. A group of kind-hearted Saudi citizens stayed with the mourning mother at the hospital, offering comfort and support.
Haitham Khattab, from the Humanitarian and Accidents Committee at Al Nashama Forum, stated that efforts are underway with the Jordanian embassy and officials in both countries to ensure the smooth repatriation of the deceased’s bodies.
